Meet my niece... Alyssa Grace. In Alyssa's short time on earth (she was born yesterday about 2pm) she has been diagnosed with a cleft soft palate, a heart murmur, a kidney disorder, and her left eye did not develop.
Alyssa's parents, Ashley and Matt (my little brother), started dating about a year and a half ago... which means that Ashley got pregnant 9 mo into the relationship. They are not married and this is my brother's third child by the third woman. Ashley has a 4 yr old son from another relationship, as well.
As I held this prescious gift from God my heart ached... how in the world are Matt and Ashley going to be able to handle what the future holds if they can't even commit to each other... and on top of that... how are they going to handle what the future holds without a relationship with God?
So... keep my family in your prayers as we work through these times with baby Alyssa....

Will definately be praying for this beautiful baby and her parents. Especially for them to come to know Christ. He's the Rock they'll need to pull through this scary time as learn all of her dissabilities.
Oh man! Baby Alyssa is the apple of God's eye. How can we even begin to understand when things like this happen? I will pray for her, for your family and this precious baby. God will comfort you as only He can.
I want to thank you so much for your prayers, thoughts, and kind words of encouragement. I'm gonna try to work my blogging into my daily schedule so I can still visit my buddies - even if it's every other day! I'll still be around. You can get rid of me that easily!
So sorry to hear about your niece. Babies are such little miracles, each and every one. I will keep Baby Alyssa, your brother and his girlfriend in my prayers.
Wow. I'll be praying with you. She's so sweet, too. I hope you'll get to see her often enough and be part of her life.
ok-i just searched my best friends' name and this page came up(brought to me by good ol' google) but once i read it, i realized maybe i was meant to find it. i will be praying for this little girl, and i know its just a name, but if she is anything like my bud-she needs to make it though because she will have quite the impact on the world.
