Peek Inside Me

Cheerios on my butt has started a new campaign called 'Peek inside me' where each week we will show our true selves. This week's peek is our house and its messes. Supermom showed her messes... I guess I can show mine too.

The way our house is set up is that you walk in the front door and in front of you is the dining room, the living room is to the right and the kitchen is just past that... it is all one big room so furniture is what breaks it up. So... this first pic is the mess that greats you at the front door. I scrapbooked over a month ago and yet my crap hasn't found its way to my bedroom. Robert's computer desk is on the right... see the mess there. We all have a tendency to kick our shoes off when we walk in so you can see those hanging out too.
The real slob in the family is me... as you can see from this pic. See how clean his side of the cabinet is?

We have a sectional but there are currently only two places to sit because the rest is covered by laundry. If you look behind the couch you can see where the desk threw up. This is the play room... the kids are supposed to clean it up daily... this is what it looked like by 9am this morning.
The other side of the living room. My end table looks like it is growing paper... and look more scrapbooking crap.

We are having friends over for dinner tomorrow night so I have about 24 hrs to correct this mess and mow the yard. Yippee!!! That is what I call crunch time around here.

TAG! Your it.... let us peek inside if you dare. I don't know how to link yet so.... childrenandcheeriosontheloose.blogspot.com is where you need to go.

Thank you for sharing that. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. Mine is usually worse, since my husband surpasses me in messiness.

Thank you for sharing! Did posting the photos inspire you to get things picked up before your company came? I saw this challenge too--took a look at my messes, took a look at my digital camera.....and just chickened out! Somehow I got the energy to pick up a few things---feeling a little sheepish--as I don't have young children that make creative messes...my messes are mine! Seems the piles of clutter just seem getting bigger and bigger...since I discovered blogging!

P.S. You have blogger--right? To link someone's address...when you are composing your post--look at the top of the screen for a symbol that looks like a cyber globe---click on that and following it's prompt. You can type the address into the link...and highlight the word you want to attach it to..and whalla! It's done. Make sure you are on Compose---not HTML or edit when typing your post.

Thanks for stopping in and seeing my mess. The inspiration came from my pride and the fact that I really don't want people to know I live like that! HA HA... now the blogging community knows! Do ya'll still love me?

I love that all of the "Peek Inside" photos on everyone's blogs contain unfolded laundry. I thought it was just my lazy ass.
~whew~

Love the blog btw. =)

Some people decorate in the Victorian or Country Cottage style. My house is an homage to laundry.

Oh, Jessica. Thanks for sharing that. Makes me feel much better about my messy house. I may get to this today. May not. Planning a lesson for Sunday.

Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog. It's always fun to find a new blogger I haven't heard of yet. I'll have to come back.

Oh, on the laundry thing, you really should visit Edge and see what she's got going on with her laundry system. Her engineer husband put it together and it looks fabulous. As soon as I dig through the piles, I'll be implementing it. Makes laundry look easy.

I'll come back and let you know when I've posted pics of my crazy house. :)
